Former Attorney General Bill Barr, who is not a big fan of Trump, had this to say.
"This case is an abomination," Barr said during "America's Newsroom" on Wednesday. "It's obviously political. Seven years after he pays hush money to try to come up with this case. It's also, as you say, it's not only far-fetched... they're trying to predicate it on a federal crime which wasn't prosecuted."
"And they're wrong about it. This was not a campaign contribution. They're just wrong on the law," he continued. "But to me, this shows that the real threat to liberty, the real threat to our system, are the excesses of the progressive left... They're perverting the system of justice, and... that's where the danger lies. The corruption and subversion of our institutions by the left."

This is why Trump can't get a fair trial. Never Trumpers will not vote not guilty under any circumstances. If you look back through history you will see that this is how fascism starts. In New York falsifying business records becomes a felony "if the falsification was done to conceal another crime. Bragg alleges that Trump intended to conceal state and federal campaign finance violations."
Falsifying business records is a state crime, not federal, which is why he's being tried in the New York courts.

The Feds investigated Trump for federal election crimes. One agency found no crime. Then another agency investigated and found no crime. So no federal charges were filed. So the DA has charged Trump with several crimes that would normally be misdemeanors. He has decided that he wants to elevate the state charges to felonies because he thinks Trump committed federal crimes even though he has no authority to charge or prosecute federal crimes. So he's upping the state charges to felonies based on his federal crimes idea that could be felonies except the federal agencies that investigated and have the authority to bring those charges did not. The lawsuit will be massive when the Supreme Court overturns all of this BS.
